Some are abandoned, some are removed from unsafe environments due to neglect or abuse, and others are lovingly placed for adoption at birth. New Life Baby House provides these precious little lives with a safe home, nurturing care, and the opportunity to grow and thrive while they wait for a loving forever family.

Our Vision

From vulnerable beginnings to brighter futures.

New Life Baby House was established through Hillside Church and our partner, iKusasalethu, to provide a safe, nurturing home for babies in crisis, working in partnership with social workers and child protection services. Whatever their story, every baby is welcomed with love, dignity, and compassion.

Together, we're creating a place where healing begins, hope is restored, and every baby has the opportunity to flourish.

Safety

We protect children from destitution and neglect, a safe, clean and supportive home away from home for every child to start their new future.

Care

We attend to every child's need to feel valued and cherished, supporting physical and emotional needs within a warm, stable environment.

Adoption

Adoption decisions are led by social workers and the Children's Court. Our role is to provide a loving, safe, and nurturing home for babies while their individual care plans are determined, whether a child is reunited with their family or placed with an adoptive family, they are loved and cared for every step of the way.

Now officially open, and caring for babies every day.

With this crisis house, we catch those little lives who might easily fall through the net and redirect their path towards a better future. Each day we have the privilege of providing a safe, loving environment for the most vulnerable babies in our care.

A local church committing itself to support this project on an ongoing basis. Hillside has partnered with social justice initiatives in Hillcrest, KZN, for more than 30 years, investing vision, resources and personnel into this mission. Led by Roger and Tanya Tedder.

iKusasalethu

A non-profit (NPO Reg. 123-446) and Public Benefit Organisation (PBO 930049567), driven by Hillside Church, working to drive social change in the lives of underprivileged children and teens in KwaZulu-Natal.
